This morning we left Sooke in search of the Super-Pod. We did receive reports from Companies in Victoria that Whales were off of San Juan Island. On our way we did stop by Race Rocks Eco Reserve and viewed many species of Birds and Harbour Seals.

We arrived at San Juan to see 2 Adult Male Orcas, 2 Adult Females and 1 Calf. We had a GREAT Tour with these animals as all the rest were spread out a good distance. Unfortunately we did not have our camera with us this trip.

Today we had a busy day with 2 trips. We had reports of the Super Pod (J,K & L Orcas) off of Sooke when we had left the dock. We were on the water for 10 minutes when we came across 90+ Salmon eating killer whales. They were very active with many breaches, spyhopping….. We left them and viewed a large adult Humpback Whale for 30 min. Reports are coming in that many Humpbacks have been seen moving into the Strait of Juan de Fuca. This is do the large pockets of Krill and other foods that these animals eat.

Our second tour included the Super-Pod of Orcas and we ended it with the Tall Ships Mock Battle off of Victoria.
