Today the weather actually cooperated for a great tour. We travelled to Race Rocks Eco Reserve to view Stellar & California Sea Lions also 1 Elephant Seal. We then headed straight to San Juan Island to see J’s and K’s fighting the current as the were looking foor food. We did see much activity by the groups which was very exciting.
Well today we started West towards Port Renfrew to look for the Resident Orcas. It was a wet yet beautiful trip. We finally ended up near Port Angeles in the USA to find one of our elusive whales, the Minke. It was a great trip all around. We also got a report from a friend tonight off of Sooke that lots of Orcas are back in the area. We are certainly looking forward to tomorrows trip!
This morning I received a call from a friend that lots of whales were off of Sooke. When we arrived we had the “Super Pod” off of Sooke. Over 88 Salmon feeding Orcas were travelling West today, lots of breaching, playing around was seen by all.
What an excellent day! Tomorrow we have a few seats left on our tours, call if you would like to book a tour.
We had a long tour today that took us South of San Juan Island. We were notified that K’s and J’s (Local resident Orca Whales) were in Rosario Strait heading South. We came across a small group with 1 other boat.
We do have a few seats available tomorrow morning and afternoon, so call now for more details.
We had a fabulous time with the Super Pod (over 90 salmon eating Orcas) off of San Juan Island. We viewed many whales even though they were spread out over 5 miles. All were actively chasing salmon as they were moving South. These were some of the same whales from yesterday off of Sooke. They did meet up with the rest probably off of Victoria last night. It was a bumpy but exciting tour.
We have spots left on our afternoon tour tomorrow.
Today half of our resident whales (J,K,L Orca whales) were reported off of Vancouver. We decided to head West to find the other Group of Residents and found them off of Port Renfrew. On both trips we had an excellent time with L Pod heading towards Victoria.
We have an afternoon trip only tomorrow and have seats still available.
Today our first tour started off of Victoria with J-Pod at Discover Island. It was awsome to see them breaching, tail slapping and actively hunting for Salmon. Vancouver Island Whale Watching is still going strong. These animals will stay for the summer in search of the Large Chinook Salmon. They will consume over 300lbs in one day to sustain their large masses.
We have availability on our am and afternoon tours tomorrow.
We started the day heading to Oak Bay where 8 Orcas were spotted. On the way we came across L-Pod off of Beechy Head heading towards Sooke. Thats over 40 Salmon eating Orca Whales. What an exciting day for both trips. Lots of breeching and playing by all the Killer Whales as they were moving past Sooke.
