Today was an incredible day on the Juan de Fuca Strait. We started the morning off at Race Rocks to view Sea Lions, Elephant Seals and a variety of other mammals. On our way back, my friend John with Hindsight Fishing Charters notified us on some Transient Orcas off of Sooke. When we arrived they were very playful with each other, breaching tail-slapping…. Our Second trip also took us to Race Rocks, but the Orcas were still near by and was more on a hunting behavior. Race Rocks again was incredible as we took a quick ride through.
Yesterday we had Humpbacks and Transient Orcas off of Sooke. 2 Humpbacks were within a mile of each other feeding near Sooke Bay. The transient Orcas were farther off shore on their way to Race Rocks.
Today we had an excellent tour, a little bumpy though. We did get reports of Orcas off of Sooke just as we were heading out. We did arrive at Beachy Head to find an adult male transient Orca (T 103) heading towards
We had 2 exciting tours today that took us 3 miles offshore and to Race Rocks Eco Reserve. Lots of Sea Lions, Seals, Porpoise and a variety of Marine Birds including bald eagles were out. We had beautiful weather as well, except for the cloud cover to give us all a smooth ride.
