Today we had 2 great tours that took us East to Race Rocks. Both trips we had Transient Killer Whales and 3 Humpbacks. It was great to see all of them almost together and all were very active.
Sorry about the late update but we did go out yesterday. I took our tour to 4 Humpbacks right off of Race Rocks and what a show. The first 2 decided to sleep during our time with them but the other 2 were very active. We did see the animals do a tail breach 100 yards in front of our vessel. Also tail lobbing and feeding was also seen.
It was a perfect day with a little roller coaster ride on the way back.
We had 3 large Humpbacks off of Race Rocks today that were slowly moving to the NE. These whales were definitely diving alot as they showed there flukes many times. What a treat for all of us to see.
We had 2 great tours today which took us to Race Rocks. Our first tour took us to 4 Transient Killer Whales actively hunting near Race. Also 1/2 mile from them were 2 Humpback Whales.
Our 2nd tour took us right off of Sooke for 5 Humpbacks all within 2 miles of each other. Our guests were definitely treated to a true West Coast experience.
Today we had a great tour that took us East to Race Rocks. The tour started with a large Humpback Whale heading West sometimes playing with Sea Lions that were close by. Our tour then took us South to find over 10 playful Dahls porpoise that rode the bow of our vessel. It was an awsome sight to see all of them jumping right beside the vessel as we traveled at 10 knots.
Yesterday we had an incredible tour that took us to Race Rocks with over 50 Killer
Whales, all very active. Half way through our tour a Humpback was spotted 1 mile away.
What a Great way to end the tour.
We had a fantastic day with 3 Humpbacks and our Resident Orcas off of Beacher Bay (East Sooke). All were very active with lots of breaching, tail slapping and more was seen.
Today we had a spectacular tour with a group of bird watchers from all over BC. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfiDVOZJPDI We started at first light and headed straight for Port Renfrew to see tens of thousands of rare offshore marine birds. Our journey also took us to Swiftsure Bank which was full of incredible marine wildlife including over 30 Humpback Whales. This was all captured on video by my close friend Jason V. with Discover Sooke. Or please check www.discoversooke.com
Our tour today took us East for a Humpback and Resident Orcas. We arrived to find a lone Humpback Whale off of Race Rocks heading South. After spending time with him I took the group to our local Resident Killer Whales off of Oak Bay which earlier in the morning they did pass Sooke. It was a Great yet soggy tour!
Today took us East for a lone Humpback Whale off of Race Rocks. We did spend time with him just after a great tour through Race Rocks. Our tour also took us West to see the Sea Lion Caves off of the Juan de Fuca Trail.
